I've had this car about 3 months now. It is an 06 with @ 60,000 miles. I have trouble downshifting most of the time it will just not go into gear without me letting off the clutch and fully engaging the clutch again. Is this normal on this car? I've always had a manual tranny and never have had to do this before. Didn't know whether or not to be concerned or not. But its kinda annoying.

It definately sounds like hydraulic issue. Try flushing the fluid first to see if that helps.
The bushings between the shift box and it's torque tube mount are known to tear and break down with age, allowing the shift box to move which can also hamper shifting. Replacing them will firm up the box again. There are also bushings that the shifter rod passes through in the box itself for its fore and aft movement. If they are torn the rod movement will be sloppy and affect shifts. If those bushing are shot you have to buy a new box.
If the clutch fluid isn't the fix, then look at these things.
I took a look at the fluid this afternoon. Couldn't really tell anything, just looked black. So I'm just supposed to siphon out the old fluid and fill it up with new fluid?

You got it. Then look at it a few days later after you have driven it more and it will probably be dirty again. Repeat the sequence until it stays clean. It probably took about six flushes for me before it started remaining clear for an extended period of time. I now look at it weekly and when it starts changing color I replace it (I probably change it now about at 3 month intervals).
