Default Radio question

Does the base radio with the aux input plug directly up to the older C6 model harness that comes without the aux input? So a 2008 or newer base radio into a 05-07 model?

Thanks, and yes I know just upgrade but I just want the aux input so I don't have to listen to the poor radio reception I get here.

I have no idea on this but you might try posting in the audio section if you get no responses here.

Yes, I swapped my base 2006 base radio with a 2008 which has the AUX input on the front panel.

The new radio needs to be activated at a GM dealership.

Great! Thanks KarlK! I had no idea it needed to be activated at a GM Dealership. Which sucks cause they need to keep the car the whole day for the smallest thing....

Takes the dealer about 5 minutes and about $25.00 if you do the radio install yourself.

If you plan on installing the radio yourself, be sure to get the serial and any other numbers off the radio before you install it. Otherwise they'll have to pull it out to get the numbers fopr activation.
