Default Stock H pipe to x pipe conversion

Doe's anyone know of a conversion X pipe kit that I can use to convert the stock H pipe to an X pipe, of course with some welding involved. Has to be cheaper and buying a corsa x pipe .

I had my local muffler shop fab a X pipe for me. Cost me about a hour of looking at an old magazine and $92.

I used a 2.5 in x-pipe from EBAY $28.00 plus 4 ban clamps. Remove the long h pipe off car cut pipe at H then slide pipe into x pipe with clamps.Install on car aline everything then bolt up. It took longer to lift the car up and get under it than removing the pipe.

Isn't the '08 mid pipe an X pipe? Find a used '08 mid pipe, should bolt to any '05 to '08 C6.

I wouldn't waste my money for such a minimal,if any gain. C6 exhaust is quite efficient. I have cutouts and didn't gain anything until I approached 450 rwhp and then only 6 rwhp from cutouts.

Long tube headers would make much more sense.

He may want the sound of an x-pipe. I believe Magnaflow sells just an x-pipe piece. I'll look. Gimme a sec...

H pipe doesn't change sound.

Cam changes sound.

I've had an x, h, and straight pipes on my GTO. Each sounded different with the exact same mufflers. The straight pipes with no x or h was the loudest and most obnoxious.

X Pipes do change the sound more throaty rasp (nascar like), less burble and roll off some drone. Worked every time on my old mustangs.

H Pipe does change the Sound of the exhaust and reduces the BURBBLE...

That being said,, DO NOT expect much if any HP/Tq gain with the install of a better H or true X pipe.

The ONLY way an addition of a better H or the addition of an X pipe will prove an increase in power is if you SIGNIFICANTLY increase air flow thru the engine (better heads/cam/ intake/exhaust ) or add a significant increase in engine displacemant!
