Engine "ping"
Hey Everybody,
Looking for some insight regarding what I think is engine "ping" after I installed a Borla Touring cat back system. Didn't have it prior to install, no engine light has come on and the dealer as well as two different speed shops have told me there shouldn't be any adjustment needed. I've tried a couple of different gas additives, haven't helped. Not sure where to go from here.

This may sound silly but try rolling the window down and see if you hear it. I thought I was having ping nut it turned out to be a rattle when the windows are up. Only under hard acceleration. Sounded just like detonation though with the windows up.

If you know someone that has EFILive, you can run a scan of the car while the "ping" happens and look at the KR and see if it shows an issue. You can have a wideband in there and see what the A/F is for another way to check ping issues.
