I drive my 06 MN6 Coupe as a daily as well. I went with the following mods:

- K&N Intake
- LG Street Series Long Tubes w/high flow cats
- Corsa Sport Exhaust
- G5X1 cam kit

Installed and tuned by LG put down around 420hp/400 torque. The idle of the G5X1 cam is very nice for a daily. It is not rough and sounds great.

The G6X1 would be a great cam for daily driving & for an automatic. Anything bigger than that will require a converter change.

I too run the G5X1 in my LS2, but the G6 series was made more for the LS3.

Are you going to be running your stock exhaust manifolds?

I'm looking for the same exact info. After a lot of research I'm leaning towards a 224/230 XER 114+2. XER273HR from comp cams. I'm also considering an ECS blower cam.

came across this post while researching. I have no idea who posted this or what mods were done to get the rwhp #'s, so take it for what it's worth. You will see the 224/230 XER 114 cam near the top of the rwhp list @ 479 & 477 (manual trans I'm sure) and it should have good street manners as well with -1 overlap. Keep in mind these results are on LS2 engines with LS3 heads. Spinmonster turned me on to this cam for my auto.

Here are some data collected of 6.0/LS3/L92 Head combos:

RWHP..SPLIT.......CAM.................OV ERLAP
486/435 6 232/238 .595/.605 114 ......7
485/439 3 231/234 .643/.598 111......10.50
485/445 9 227/236 .630/.605 113.......5.5
482/435 4 230/234 .612/,598 114...... 4
479/430 4 232/236 .600/.600 113 .......8
477/462 6 224/230 .581/.591 114 ......-1
475/425 6 224/230 .581/.591 114.......-1
469/420 8 227/235 .614/.621 114........3
468/439 13 216/229 .561/.562 113.......-3.50
462/420 8 227/235 .639/.621 114 .......3
461/421 11 234/245 .641/.607 111........17.50
460/446 8 223/231 .610/.617 113........1
459/436 2 222/224 .566/.568 112.......-1
458/430 12 228/240 .610/.612 115........4
456/427 12 228/240 .610/.612 115........4
452/419 16 224/240 .588/.591 ...?........?
452/412 16 228/244 .615/.615 115........6
451/403 4 232/236 .600/.600 113........8
450/400 2 228/230 .588/.591 ..?.........?
446/404 12 228/240 .611/.610...?.........?
438/405 4 228/232 .612/.600 111........8
438/403 4 232/236 .600/.600 113........8

So you can see a trend or trends and kind of get a feel of some of the potential... They do have some 500rwhp but guys are relcutant to give up there data........

This also debunks the myth of needing wide splits,
the top 9 avg between 6-8* split on the camshaft pattern...
The top 9 avg 3.5-4 overlap...
The top 9 avg .607 intake and .598 exhaust lift
The top 9 avg 113 LSA
The top 9 avg 226 intake /234 exhaust duration

I had that exact "average" cam in my LS3 a while back. 226/234 114lsa. Probably a little much for the OP with an A6 tranny. If memory serves, it made 465rwhp through an M6 and 4.10 gears.

EPS has a 222/226 113lsa cam that I'd be interested in if I wanted good manners and a nice bump in power with an A6 LS3.

Pat G recommended a 222EPS/230LXL .597”/.609” 115LSA +2 for me. Will be good with auto and work well when I add boost.

OP my cam choices having similar criteria as you are narrowed down to 2 cams:

Comp XER273HR 224/230 .581/.592 114+2 -1 deg overlap
EPS Pat G spec 222/230 .597/.609 115+2 -4 deg overlap

I wonder if the 230 degree exhaust lobes are necessary if the OP's motor will not see forced induction. 4 degrees less exhaust duration would be 2 degrees less overlap and a little smoother running engine. In a naturally aspirated motor, what would 4 degrees less exhaust duration cost power wise?

If stock stall is keeping you to the small size of cam, the G6x1 is bigger than any of those listed, and runs very well with the LS3.

420-440 rwhp can be expected through the stock stall with that cam

Makes a difference in cam selection imho, feel free to ask me any other questions. We have a blower cam that we put in a CTSV with headers and stock stall, it made 605rwhp with 11psi on the stock 1900 blower.

What are some good shops with good tuners in Houston? Not sure what part she will be at for her training but I will go to best shop possible.

I've decided to go with the 222/230 .597/.609 115+2 on comp EPS/LXL lobes.

Do you have to buy that cam through EPS or can you get it direct from Comp?

Good question, but I'm not sure. I went through EPS, but comp does grind the cams for them.
