OK so I had to change the axle on my 05 because I thought it would get rid of the clicking....in the process I jacked up the fitting that attaches the magnetic ride control to the shock. So I said to myself I will get another connection and fix it later. Its been 3 weeks and now my car is sagging so bad that if I put gas in it the tires will hit the wheewell ever so slightly even on the smallest of road imperfections. Now just 2 weeks ago I hit an imperfection in the road due to a main break and it bent two wheels....these are 20" aftermatket with maybe 1" of sidewall. This may have been a factor... I don't know. I've looked for obvious broken stuff but see nothing. I can compress the shock with allot of effort and it will still rebound. Any thoughts?

Are you saying you broke something? Specifically what part are you talking about?
Sort of sounds like the leaf spring is broken and isn't supporting that side of the car. Get under the car and check the leaf near the center of the car. It basically is a cantilever type of support and depending where in the center area of the car a spring may be broken it may allow one or both sides to drop.
Holy cow.....GM says I have to buy a whole new spring when all I really need is that piece of rubber o ring looking thing. Anyone have any ideas of another piece I could put in there to fix it. Its only hard rubbed from what I can see and it should slide right over that bolt.
Your only options besides replacing the spring are to buy aftermarket lowering bolts, or find a set of used springs. Many posts about how they are not available seperately and people are always looking for stock lowering bolts in the for sale section but nobody ever seems to find any.

This is a prime example of stupidity on the part of GM. I cannot buy the part I need by itself...I have to purchase a complete spring? Gotta love whomever decided this was a good thing.
Im just going to steal one off my 02 Z06 and go from there.

You just need a good parts guy who will dig out the individual part. Most guys will only look at what comes up on the first search. You can darn well bet if it was the parts guy's car he'd find it.

Others have tried to find the bolts as separate parts, and reported they couldn't do it.
I'd like to get a set as spares, so please let me know if anyone is able to find them new from GM as individual parts.
They really need to tie the spring to the lower a arm with a balljoint assembly like endlinks are set up. it would ride a bit harder, but it would still allow adjustment, while eliminating the issues associated with the pad design.
