Default Window alignment

the metal cable started breaking on my driver window. the window stopped rolling up about 1-2" short of full close b/c the cabel was binding. i got a new assembly and put my old motor in it. the new assembly had the brackets that attached to the window in the rolled down position when i got it. we assembled it all together and tested the window. the window is in the down position and will only roll up 1-2". is this b/c the old motor i resued was in the 1-2" short position when i took it out? i used my old motor b/c i was afraid i would have to go to dealer and reprogram the new motor. so my choices are to somehow get my old motor in the full down position and see if it works or put the new motor in since it is in the full down position and possibly have to go to dealer to get it programmed. what do you think? am i on the right path?

Did you try re-indexing the window. The drivers door has to be closed. run the window all the way down and hold till you hear 3 faint clicks then run the window all the way up and hold till you hear the same 3 clicks.

The motor is a worm gear and shouldn't matter during the install unless I've been very lucky in the past.

I didn't try indexing as I thought that only fixed if the window didn't index when you shut door. Window is all the way down already. Can't get it to move up.

dsp300c,
It seems like reindexing the window isn't an option. In this case, it seems like your best course of action is to go to the dealership. Let us know what you decide to do.

Justin
