So I know its a slow leaking water pump. I made an appt with Vette doctors. Just realized that this is still under my original power train warranty. I was thinking I was gonna use the gmpp warranty. Im thinking I have to go to a dealer for the fix now. Which concerns me cause I have a tune with the varraram, and cow booster. I don't want them to say its not covered and or mess with the tune. I'm hoping I can still just go to Vette doctors and pay the 100deductible with no worries. 27000 miles on an 08 and a bad water pump already. Wtf. Does the dealer always check for tunes?
outside of having a supercharger or underdrive pulley that could cause excessive load on the water pump bearings , the warranty will cover the repair. there is no reason for the dealer to start scanning the computer for this repair since it doesn't involve the powertrain.
It is. I'm the service manager of a Goodyear store, I tell you the the way you act when you talk to people gets you most of the way. Whenever I get a ++++ and he starts demanding things like the world owes him a favor for his existence he gets nothing. Act like a man ASK for the warranty and you"ll get it. You also should build a good repore with a dealer in your area, look them up and ask around.

My 2006 water pump went out at 40k miles..just 4k miles after the warranty I only wish it was a slow leak. Happened when I was on my way home from Vegas hauling a$$ across the dessert. The pump blew-out and shot coolant all over the engine. AAA was my savior.
Wait I thought its power train your saying your dealer denied you an said its only 3 yr 36000 mile problem. If so I'll go to Vette doctors . I'm gonna fin out tomorrow.

Not comforting... My 05 H?/C/I setup just hit 40k miles. Hopefully it doesn't go on the track this weekend
You may want to see if you can throw him a bone while in there by getting an oil change or even having your whole cooling system flushed in the pump process if they are willing to take care of you no questions asked.
I hope not. But I thought this is covered under the 5 yr 60000 power train ?
The power train warranty for 2007 and later is 5yr/100k. And yes the water pump is part of the power train warranty. I check on that last week as my son's 08 coupe LS3 water pump started leaking. He had it replaced for free using the 5/100 rather than his GMPP with $100 deductible.
Got the word. No issues. It's the water pump and is covered under manufacturer warranty. They did ask if I wanted the differential fluid changed for $216. I declined. I'll do it myself. It seems easy enough.
