I read all the threads I could find on removing control arm bushings. I fought with the first bushing and then discovered that a small bottle jack pushes them right out.
Just use the opposite side of the arm as the base and the bushing push right out. Took 10 minutes to do 7 bushings!
Great idea, when I paid to have a shop replace my control arm bushings with PFADT poly bushing they used a torch to burn them out because "there was no other way".

Wow! Thats crude!
Loads of alternatives.
Pusher:- Combinations of running stud, coupling nut and spacer that is smaller then the bushing can be assembled and fineness out the bushing without unnecessary force.
Puller:- Changed the set up, then the running stud along with washers and nuts can be used to pull in the replacement bushing.
Or, simply, use a vice with appropriate socket or spacer.

Interestingly enough, the torch method seemed to be the consensus forum method at the time.
Oh yeah, I am now doing all kinds of things that I used to pay for and watch being done.

Well, different stroke for different folks! (with that phrase, you probably can tell my age).
While others paying to enjoy turnkey. I just don't like to pay $100/hr. for marginal car repairs. Beside personal satisfaction, I can do the job better!
I don't have lift or a lot of fancy tools in my garage, but I've learned in my past life to be imaginative in solving problems. For example, I've my front wheel drive car on jack stands yesterday and in the process of dropping the trans and do the clutch replacement on my back, that is as soon as I got off from the forum. Parts cost is under $180 shipped but book charge is 7.5 hours!
That is just my way of enjoying, toying with my motorsport toys! Besides, everyday is Sunday to both of us anyway, right?
