thanks! i knew i didn't have to remove the heads but some people have been telling me its easier to do the springs and stuff.
i have been reading all the cam install threads on here, ls1 how to's and some on the GTO forums for about the last 6 months so i think i have a good idea how to do it. I'm a little worried about how to do the springs but i think when i see them it will make sense.
Not too bad. If you have any questions on game day, give me a call. I'll send you a PM with my cell.
Ha, ha... Funny! I thought I helped at least a little bit?
Justin, you ready for that clutch yet? Your LS3 clutch should be the same as the LS7 one and should be good to 500-550 rwhp but I'm sure by now you may be itching for more...

Haha, I was totally kidding of course. You saved me a great deal of headache.
My stock clutch is holding out for now. I know it's not happy with the increase in tq(HPTuners says 501 delivered torque rofl) but it's fine for now.
I'm done with power mods(at least for now) until I can get a few 10 sec slips and get bored of it. Honestly, the power still scares me and 120+mph comes on quick. Gears are my next mod(I think) and I the addition of some weight reduction. My ultimate goal was 10.xx@13x cam-only. I know a lot of guys hit the 130s with H/C but I wanted to see if I could hit the 130 mark cam-only without going max-effort.

We shall see
You say that your done with power mods, but give it time... Nobody is REALLY done with power mods.
Keep hitting the strip to learn the new power, you will hit your goal soon enough.

Front sway pulled, passenger seat removed, adapters for skinnies should be here today or tomorrow. . .40* weather.... as long as my drag radials work half decently and my clutch doesn't melt, I might have my first 10 sec slip
OK game day has started. should i drop the front cradle? i have everything apart but the steering rack is in the way. i saw someone say slide the steering rack out but it looks like i can just drop the front cradle just as easy. undo the 4 cradle bolts, the motor mount bolts and the shocks at the bottom and the steering bolt.

NO!! Just remove the steering rack. Unbolt it and slide it out the passenger side wheel well just enough so you have room to work. Make sure not to move the steering wheel after you unhook the shaft ( it can happen very easily, believe me I know!!!).
I wouldn't drop the cradle if it were me. the steering rack isn't too bad to remove. You will need to rotate it 90* once out of the bracket to slide it out. Also, take good pics of the steering lines so you can re-route them properly once balancer back on.
Good luck. It's not that bad when you look back on it.
When you reinstall the steering rack, don't make the mistake that I did--make sure you have both sides of the insert for the passenger side so you don't mess up the mounting ears.
And, when reinstalling the steering rack, position the power steering pump hard lines so the steering rack slides between them correctly. Otherwise you will have a he!! of a time trying to wrap the one hardline around the rack after it's bolted in.
