Default Fob question

Can somebody tell me i lost my number 2 fob someone want's to sell me a number 1 that will give me two number 1 will i be able to program a 1 with another 1 Thanks

No, the number on the back of the fob means nothing. It's just for you to know which fob is which. The car will not let you program both fobs as #1.

If you use the short procedure to program the new fob, the car will add it as the next unprogrammed number. In your case, it will program it as fob #3. If your car has the memory options, that newly programmed fob #3 will not have access to the memory options. It will be able to lock/unlock the car and start the car, but that's all.

However, if you use the long procedure and reprogram all fobs, you can program one of those fobs as #1 and the other one as #2 so that they will both have memory options. That will also prevent the old fob #2 from being able to do anything with/on the car if someone else comes up with it. You would want to mark the new fob somehow with the fob number that it was programmed as.
