Clutch issue
Hi, Hope I am in the right area for this question. I picked up a new C6 manual transmission in November and have the following issue, if anyone can help.- When going from neutral to reverse or from neutral to first gear I hear 1 clunk or 1 knock noise after the car is in gear and starts moving. Car has been this way since day one. sometimes only intermittent. Without it happening every single time I am reluctant to have the dealer start tinkering and adjusting things since Chevy dealer shop does not see many Vettes or manual transmissions.. I have been driving clutch cars for many years and have never had a problem. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this or if anyone has any suggestions. Sometimes I think it might be something loose on the under chassis because of the forward and reverse movement that duplicates the noise Any suggestions appreciated. I would hate to have transmission problems on a brand new car.

You will need to determine where the noise comes from. Chassis ears can help. An easy thing to do is to check the torque on both rear axle nuts. It you think the noise is coming from the axle splines to the rear wheel bearing hub, lube the axle splines where the axle fits into the rear wheel hub bearing assembly.
