FOB programming hints
6. The key fob is not positioned properly within the fob programming pocket .
Depending on the number of keys attached to the key ring, the key fob may not sit properly in the key fob pocket.
7. Avoid low frequency challenge interference during fob programming.
Normal activations of the keyless access functions will result in activation of low frequency communication within the vehicle. This communication is at the same frequency and is generated from antennas located in proximity to the communication which is used to program key fobs and can interfere with the vehicle’s ability to successfully program the fob.
In most cases, this will not damage the key fob and the programming process can be attempted again. However, in a worst case scenario, a low frequency challenge at the wrong time of the learning process can prevent the key fob from being programmed to any vehicle.
- Do not pull the door handles or attempt to open the doors.
- Do not touch the lock sensors on the door handles.
- Do not close the last door (i.e. keep at least one door open during programming).
- Do not unlock the door through the driver door key cylinder.
- Do not open the trunk.
Tip
While unlikely, it is possible that other vehicles that transmit low frequency challenges can also cause interference in the programming process
While these may not all apply, maybe it can be of help
.
the battery is good, and also if i try to use it to start the car by putting int in the pocket as if it is a dead battery, nothing happens.
ideas?
new energizer 2032 battery (no dimples on - side)
works fine!
this is after trying 2 other GOOD dimpled batteries, so my suggestion is if you have on fob that works, and one that doesn't... swap batteries real quick to find out.
thank god! now onto figuring out the seat heater fuse blowing all the time.. then its perfect.... oh and the seat retractor rattle and uh... jk
