RPM doesn't do them anymore, they quit about a year and a half ago, i think mine was the last they did. i went to century transmissions this past july and so far im very happy with it, it works perfect but i only put down 400 RWHP.
mike a cool guy and im sure he will be able to help you, he has built a few A6's that run in the 9's and he gives a warranty with the rebuild. i dont think anyone else is giving a warranty on a modified A6.
From talking with a lot of transmission shops that work on the 6L80E, high torque kills the 6L80E fast. Anything can be built to handle it, but the question is how long will it last.. The main cause of failure is because of the tune.
I had mine rebuilt (was putting 571rwhp through it prior) by Circle D, they warranty it to 600 RWHP. I also went with their multi-disk 3400 torque converter. Everything turned out great.
My build was just finished yesterday. Went to the track today. I am making 738 rwhp and 662 rwtq with an A6. We ordered the billet intermediate shaft, alto clutch packs and some other goodies from mike at century transmissions. He shipped the parts to us and a local shop that does a lot of race cars did the actual build. Lethal Racing did all the work on my car and I am very very pleased. Absolute great people and very well versed with the corvette/camaro. If you have some questions about the transmission build for the A6 give Mike at Century a call. Did you hit it with all 738rwhp for at least a few entire passes, hard launches/sixty foots and all?
