I think the risk is that the weakest part of your drivetrain is what will fail first. The strut race will definitely make the differential area more rigid but unless you also strengthen the other parts of your drivetrain you risk failure elsewhere. I believe ECS makes a good one.

The purpose of the trans/diff brace is to protect the trans and diff case from ripping apart from each other. Higher HP cars make it easier for this to happen, but we have seen the damage happen on stock cars that are driven hard, even on the street.
Once the damage occurs, it requires replacing the main shaft in the trans, trans case, and differential which can be rather costly.
Here is a link to a sale thread going on for the ECS trans braces, feel free to call or PM if interested. We have them in stock and can ship today.

I have the ECS tranny brace. Great quality, great customer service and easy to install with the drivetrain out of the car - can't speak for the install with the drivetrain still attached. Having a 2005, I thought it was cheap insurance for the car, but I only drive road courses not drag strip. I would recommend to anyone with a 2005 and you're not willing to spend the money to upgrade your diff (like my cheap a$$...)

Thanks! I have a 2006, but, like you said cheap insurance.
Their customer service is not great, it is outstanding! I ordered it around noon and had a tracking number 2 hours later. I ordered parts from another vendor in October and received the goods in January.
Just to be clear, if I have an 05, the best thing to do is to add the trans brace? This is better than upgrading to a newer differential (both cheaper and stronger)?
