Default ZO6 air intake

My neighbor has a stock air intake off of his 09 and said if I wanted it ,I could have it.I have a 09 Coupe with the Z51 accessories.Would I get any increase in performance if i installed it on my car? Thanks for any replies. Rod

It may help a little. but biggest difference between the z06 intake and the stock ls3 is the z06 does not have the silencer box on it. I would take it and put it on my car if only to clean up the look of the engine bay.

I did this. They use the same air filter and the intakes have the same profile so the flow between the two will be basically similar. You'll lighten your car by a few pounds. I don't hear any difference in the sound that it makes, though it would be hard to hear any change over the NPPs. But I agree with Tikiman that it helps significantly clean up the look of the engine bay.

yes it will flow a bit better. If you decide to put a new filter - the ZR1 will fit, and was tested but to make a couple hp over the original ls3/ls7 piece.

The ZR1 "fit" is a rig at best IMHO. Don't waste your $$$. I bought one then sold it at a loss.

I have one also on a '10 LS3 and it is all visual, no performance gain. It does get rid of the big ugly silencer.

The GS uses the standard LS3 intake, the Z06 intake will replace it.
