Default Tranny grinding issues

I have an 05 and I just replaced the stock clutch with an spec 3+ and put a new slave cylinder in as well. Second gear grinds now and I have bled it severl times and also used a mighty vac on it. I can shift slow into second and some times it will go in without grinding but I can not down shift into second without it grinding...It has never ground before , does anyone know of what it could be?

First make sure your shifter is aligned correctly and that the three 40 Torx bolts are secure (2 bolts to the TT and 1 to the shifter shaft). Did you install a remote bleeder when you were replacing the clutch?

I have an early 2005 with an MN6 (Tremec T56), and I'm going through some "similar" issues with the car right now. It is still in the shop, and I expect to get it back this coming week.

I have found that shifting from 1st to 2nd while accelerating aggressively above 3,000 rpm would result in the transmission grinding badly (I had adapted by not doing that). The transmission has now been re-built with upgraded parts (new synchro's, bearings and some gears...I think) so this problem should be gone now.

We also found that the rear bearing in the torque tube was shot (making bad noises), the driveshaft was rusted and badly worn where it goes into the pilot bearing (approx. 118,000 miles). So a new driveshaft is being installed.

The clutch and flywheel were also toast (looks like the previous owner did not know how to drive a clutch.....badly burned with hot spots). So a new aluminum flywheel with a dual-disc clutch and new slave cylinder/throwout bearing (with remote bleeder) is going back in.

Also had to replace the heater core.......but that is another story!!

Boy these cars can get real expensive real quick

where are the Torx bolts located? I know where the one is that connects the shifter rod to the shifter but where are the others? No i didnt install a remote bleeder but i bled it from under the car and also used the mighty vac on it.
