I run Toyo TQ drag radial 315/35-18 on my C6, they do stick just a little and with two adults in my car they will kiss the fender just a little. I went this big because I need all the traction I can get in the rear. Well it is tire time again and I was thinking of going to to a 335/30-18. I know this tire is a little wider then the tire I run now but it is also shorter by almost an inch. The biggest bonus is that it is closer in height to the Hoosiers I run at the track (275-17). They also cost much less then any other size for some strange reason. Does anyone see a problem in this? Will the drop in height let me cheat the added width?

There are plenty of people running 325's on the rear with no rubbing issues. From your pictures it looks like you're using Z06 wheels or wheels with the wrong offset on a regular C6. That's why they are rubbing.
they are suppose to be c5 Z06 replica front wheels from the house of wheels. 18x10 I think but I do not remember the offset. How much can you machine off the back side of the rim before you get in trouble? As for sticking out I just don't care, I did not buy my vett to win some a trophy. I run my car my car at the track and drive it spirited on the street.

i dont know the exact amount, but if you look at the stock rims front to rear you will see the difference, they didnt make the rears thicker because they were under power, they did it to make the offset they needed to fit without hitting and sticking out same as the front, it looks like you have 10.5 56mm off set you really need 9.5 65mm offset, if its a 10" rim you need 79mm off set

Why wouldn't you just get the right sized rear wheel and run a 305/35/19 mickey thompson that would be VERY sticky and not look ridiculous?
There's a big difference between not winning a trophy and that picture you posted.
I run my car at the track and drive it spirited as well...
I have a set of drag wheels and Hoosiers for the track. Why don't I buy another set of rims? I don't want to buy another set of rims. This is not my only addiction, and the rims I run are not hurting my strait line performance. That 305/35-19 MT is a JOKE, I have run them and I would not run a free set of them if they came mounted. The best street drag radial I have used to date is the TOYO TQ, they last a long time and they hook as good or better than everyone else. As for the track they will not hook even at 14psi, but neither will the M/T. I run the Hoosier at 18PSI and I cut 1.4 sec 60' on a factory setup car.
dennis50nj this is what I have 10.5 56mm! So how much can I get cut out of the back side?

OK factory is 10x79mm 9.5x65mm works good, my car is lowered all the way on the stock bolts just the rear. i ran bfg 295 drs on 9.5 65mm repros, no hitting, with a wheel offset calculator, your 10.5 56mm sticks out further by 29mm, the 9.5x65mm sticks out 8 mm and works, so that's a 21mm difference or 0.826771, mic a front stock wheel and your back wheel and see if you can get close to that, if need be you can clearance the hub too so you can reach 0.826771

Thank you! I need the width of the 10.5" rim because the 335 is 13" wide.

if you just look at the rim hub thickness front rim to rear rim you will see the difference even while on the car, i think you can do it, if you look at your tire clearance picture you can see the curve of the tire, so anything milled will help
