Had a 2006 A6. Last month I 'upgraded' to a 2010 GS M6 with 12.2k miles.
I've put 1k on the new car, and now noticed it's starting 'cold'. Not sure if it always did this and I hadn't noticed, but it will start and sit at ~1150 rpms for 30 seconds or so before settling to a 'typical' ~650 rpm idle.
Is this something different between the LS2 and LS3 or should I take it to a shop?
By 'cold' I mean 50-60 degrees out in the morning. This is my daily driver in Southern California.
My 2011 LS3 with A6 starts and within five seconds, is idling at 700-800 RPMs in temps as low as 30 degrees F.
Sounds about the same as mine really. Thinking I'm a bit paranoid since it's the first used car I've bought in a long time. Really just wanted a stop-gap to tide me over to the C7.

Thanks for the response.
I thought your LS3 idled at 1150 RPMs for the first 30 seconds? On a dead cold start, it'll catch at around 1500 RPMs and steadily drop until it's between 700-800 RPMs, about five seconds in. Another five seconds and it's down to 700 RPMs or below.
I can't imagine the manual transmission cars would be that different, since the startup emissions compliance has to be relatively similar.
Are you going to bring it in to the shop? If so, mind posting what they tell you?
