Was over on ls1 tech forum. There is a thread about problems with running low octane fuel. Seems there is a problem with the l-99 and some ls-3s ecm not not adjusting back to high octane program after low octane fuels have been run. Low performance is the result. The computer will not adjust the program for good performance with high octan fuels if low octane has been run in the car. The current fix is to pull a couple of fuses to reset the program back to high octane fuel. Just wanted to make sure this is not a problem with the 2010 corvette ls-3. Has anyone else seen this thread?

Different time, different technology in the LS1 era. Never had one so no personal experience. As for the C6, no problems at all. The owner's manual says you can run 87 without any problem, of course the performance falls off accordingly but no damage.
There have been many discussions about octane around here. If you want to look for more just do an Advanced Search for ""87 octane"", using the double quotes and search "Thread Titles Only". Here's just the most recent one I pulled for you.

It was LS1 tech but they were talking about the L-99 and the LS-3 in the camaros. There cars also said they could run 87 octane fuel. But the problem was the computer would not go back to the premium fuel settings after running the 87 octane fuel so it killed performance. They were having to pull a couple fuses to reset the computer to run premium again intil GM does something to fix the problem.I just wanted to make sure none of the 2010 corvette LS-3s dont have the same problems.
