Default Exhaust Installation Question

I'm looking to take off factory exhaust and put on a new one (Borla, Flowmaster...haven't decided).

My question is...I need an installer and have been told to make sure I get one who has the computers to re-calibrate the car (2005 C6 coupe).

Does anyone know if this is true? I'm only replacing from the Cats back. So do I have to have some special Vette guru exhaust expert...or will any Muffler shoppe be able to do this?

Suggestions please? and thanks in advance....

Cat backs should not need any tuning after installation.

Any muffler shop can drop the stock exhaust and replace it with whatever you buy in no time at all.

No tune needs to be done.

Shouldn't pay more than $125

Cat-backs do not require a retune. However, I saw a thread here recently where the blogger was quoted an astronomical price and told he would have to have the rear end removed before the install. DON'T BE FOOLED! It's a simple process that you could do yourself with some good jackstands. If you're providing your own mufflers, it should not cost more than a buck & a half.............

That's true...it's pretty simple, but the first time you do it it'll probably take 2.5 hours on jackstands with hand-tools. Especially if the car has some miles on it and the bolts and pipes are harder to break loose. Just depends on what your time is worth.
