I'm very close to buying a 2006-2008 corvette Automatic and curious as to what mods I should do first. I sold my 2001 Camaro SS and had headers/cam/stall converter and will most likely not go quite that far with the corvette. Maybe stall converter, but thats it. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Cai, Headers, 3200 Converter, Drag Radials, tune, will run mid 11.s. Get the OBX headers cost half the price but work just as good as high dollar headers.
OP: I have an 07 Z51 A6 with many mods listed in my profile. If you are going to drive the car a lot, I would recommend a padded center console. Also I would look at replacing the OEM balancer with and ATI unit. Other then that I would check all the fluids, filters, belts, & tires.
can you tell me what replacing the OEM balancer with the ATI unit does to the car on a drivability basis?? Sorry, but I'm new here!...
No problem, you ask a very valid question. Many Vet owners have had problems with the OEM balancer. You may be one of the lucky ones that does not. For now, I would keep an eye on it and if you see it wobble, then I would make plans on replacing it. I have one and am very happy with it. As for driveability, you may notice an increase in response in spin up of the engine due to less rotational mass. I hope this helps, if not let me know.
Don't be foolish and spend a lot of money on things that have no value on resale and remember that modded cars spell "abused car" to a lot of potential buyers. I can relate to the temptation of "making it better" and there's always the "bragging rights" factor, but a stock corvette is pretty well sorted out, right from the factory. A stock car can be diagnosed and repaired by any mechanic. These cars are great performers in stock configuration. Just enjoy the car as the factory designed it, and save your money for gas!

I think you got lost....I'll help you find your way back
And as far as the anti mod thing goes, it reminds me of when folks try to inform smokers about the of the hazards of tobacco... we know, but we just dont care
