2005 C6 cranks but won't start - no fuel
Got in my car this morning and tried to go to work - no go. Cranks fine but won't fire. Checked for fuel at the rail - no fuel in the driver's side rail. Should I assume fuel pump, and if so, can someone direct me to a thread on how to replace it? I'm a DIY guy.
Thanks

I would check the fuel pump fuse and relay first.

There must be short either in the wiring or in the pump itself. I would think the fuse would blow before the relay but I am far from an expert on this.

After further inspection, it's not burning the relays out. I can pull the original relay and re-stab it, and the car fires and runes fine. I apparently have a connectivity issue in the fuse block itself. I can't see any corrosion, but there must be something like that down in there. Still not a bad fix considering the alternatives.

Check for a wire short where it pass over the rear frame rail near the pump. My 05 had died on a sunday 400 miles from home. Repaired by dealer on warranty. Dealer spliced and provided sleeve to protect wire.

One of my buddies had a similar issue. The Relay female pins inside the fuse block spread apart and causes poor contact. When you have poor contact in a high current circuit, it generates HEAT. We discussed repair options which were:
- Fuse block replacement $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
- Find some larger/thicker spade contacts and solder wires on the larger spades and insert them into the fuse block female pins. Solder the wires on to the relay, insulate and secure the relay inside the box.
- Break open the fuse block (its sonic welded together) and re-bend the damaged /spread open female relay contacts.
-Solder some additional material on the new relay spade pins (make then thicker) and insert it into the wider female connectors.
