Track Expectations---Wheel Hop???

Sunday I am taking may car to the track for the first time. Should I expect wheel hop running stock suspension and drag radials?

If track prep is bad then yes it is possible.

Is your car stick or automatic ???

I only ask because I have an 05 (A4) stock converter, but a few engine mods...it has run a best ET of 11.98 @ 117 mph...

& I've "NEVER" experienced any wheel hop.. either on bad tracks or very good prepped tracks... Yes, I have spun a few times, but never wheel hop... I'm using Nitto555 drag radials, I also have used MT drag radials, 305/35x18"

I might be lucky or just not making enough power (387 on the dyno) and the 11.98 run was in GREAT weather, normally I run 12.10 - 12.20 and do a short burn out...

Try 17 psi in your DR's. You shouldn't get any hop. Don't do a 6800 rpm launch your first time out. Test the track first.

If you get any hop get out of it.

You may see hop during the burnout.. The key is to get wheel speed up quickly to close to and over 60mph(or at least for me) I do my burnout in 2nd gear(m6)
