I tried searching for an answer but every oil pressure thread I saw had an issue not quite like mine and was hoping I could get some help from you guys.
Right from start up, the oil pressure gauge shoots up to 80 psi and stays there. The only time it ever falls down is once the revs to around 2500 rpm. When it falls, it drops to like 0, depending on how long the rpm is at or above 2500. If I'm just shifting at or around 2000-2500 rpm, the gauge will drop to around 60 and then once I'm in a higher gear, it goes right back up to 80.
I checked my oil level and that's fine. Can't find any leaks either. I'm going to change the oil filter tomorrow and see if that's the issue, or is there a bigger problem I should be looking at?
first off dont start your car anymore
did you just do an oil change? if so what weight oil? was the correct type oil filter used also?
or it could be a possible oil pump issue, and or faulty oil pressure sending unit.

Most likely a bad oil pressure sender. I would verify that there is oil pressure before running the engine further. If the engine runs quiet , the oil pressure is most likely ok.
I just had a problem very similar to this. Oil pressure was fine, then I did a camswap (not myself, a tuner) after that I had issues nearly identical to bassi, except the oil pressure would become better behaved after it warmed up, though it still seemed more variable, idle pressure was around 25 or so, would move up when i got on it, and I thought no big deal. No noises or anything except a little more from the valve train, but to be expected. Then today, I did an oil change, went to start it, and now I have no oil pressure?!?! wtf! no noises (i didn't wait to hear any either after it wasnt pumping up), just no oil pressure...not even a trickle. Im aware of sender and pump issues, but it almost seems too coincidental with the cam swap and then the oil change. The camswap was two weeks ago, and the oil change was today...needless to say, Im a little frustrated.
