2011 C6 A6 Transmission shift problem
Hello Everyone!
I have a strange problem with my C6 A6 transmission shifter/tranny? It seems as if sometimes when have driven for a while in S or D mode if I stop and shift toward park gears will seem to be in strange places. Like, Neutral will be in between gears, park may be reverse, looks like I have an extra gear S, D, gear?, N (in the black area), P????
However, here is the interesting part. Put the car in park. Go backwards through the gears and everything lines up. Go figure. Also, it seems as if the gear will move from S to D by barely tapping. So I dont know whats loose or broke. Please help!

It's under warranty, so get to your dealer soon before it gets worse and won't shift at all.

Problem solved! When the dealer installed the borla atak they knocked a cable loose on the transmission. They had it fixed as soon as it was on the rack. Apparently this is a relatively common occurrence when installing a new axle back exhaust system. At least at my dealership
