Did my American Racing Headers on jackstands without a problem. I took more than three hours, but I am pickyuny about doing everything to perfection. I did it all by myself but a second set of hands would have helped with some parts of the install.
i have some good knowledge about my car..installed an airaid, 160 stat and vr tb spacer alone..but not 100% sure about headers..local muffler shop told me 350$ for install..i plan on getting some obx no cats full length headers..just debating on attempting it or just paying a pro to do it
I just did mine in my garage about 2 weeks ago. I took my time and It took me about 8 hrs plus. My instructions said to install header then connect o2 sensor, it's impossible to reach, I had to remove both header and do over. It's a pain to try to lift and put the bolts in by yourself. I'm glad I did it, but for 350 IDE get it done professional. I also extra heat wrapped all the extensions too.

Should have went to the hardware store and bought a couple M8x1.25 bolts, cut the heads off and then use them as temp studs to "hang" the headers on while you move up top to start the bolts. Made things A LOT easier.

It's a fairly straightforward job. At age 69 it took me about 5 hours, because I'm rarely in a rush anymore. With a lift, the right tools, and a younger body, I'd suspect 2 hours.
The best part about doing stuff yourself is the satisfaction and pride of accomplishment, even if it's an easy task. Saving money is just a bonus.
BTW, Catless headers and straight pipes will be obnoxiously loud.
its already loud with my straight pipes lol..the loud the better for me its music to my ears..i plan on having a buddy of mines help if i decide to do the install and save me some $$
do i need to buy some 02 sensor extentions when i install them? or the 02 sensors should fit fine
When I installed my Kooks Headers I did not need any extensions for the front O2 sensors. You will need extension for the rear 2 if you are going to use the after cat sensors. If you don't use the after cat sensors you will probably need a tune to have them turned off or you may get codes.....
hey it would be a good idea to get a 02 bung welded on the collector as close up as you can facing your bell housing. make it easy to get to. your tuner will be happy! they can use the rear ones but most like it to be has close to the motor as you can get. or mine does anyway. you can also use it for a wideband later if your want one. you can run the wideband cable through your shifter down to there. its a short little run.

What if I was planning on a tune anyways, should I still get the extension for the rear two? There is emission testing where I live.
So far this is what I've gleaned from this thread:
Headers
X-Pipe
Cats
T 160 Stat (brand?)
Tunnel Plate (brand?)
After Cat Sensors (1 or 2?)

If you are going to run cats and the rear O2 sensors then you will need the extension for them. The rear O2 sensors have different connectors from the front so make sure they send you the correct ones. Just an FYI though.. I clamped up my wires and connectors to the bottom of the tunnel plate and it looked really nice but it was still not far enough away from the exhaust to keep the plastic connectors from melting, the wires are just fine. I am now going to reroute them up through the tunnel plate and forward.
