Spray Painting Tip
I currently have the K&N air filter with the Carbon Fiber top. I want to try a DIY and spray paint the carbon fiber to match my car. I have a can of color matched paint from Automotive Touchup.com. Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Make sure you clean it off good and it wouldn't hurt to rough it up a little with scotch brite. Also apply thin coats waiting a couple minutes in between. The key is to clean it off good. I can't tell you how many times I thought it was clean and when I sprayed it, the dredded "Fish Eyes"

dont skimp and use regular crappy masking tape
the more time you spend making sure things are taped off correctly, the better the results
definitely sand it
clean it off well with alcohol and a good lint free cloth or paper towels
make sure you paint it in an area where bugs and debris wont land on the paint during drying
follow up the color coat with a clear coat for extra longevity and a better look

Any chance you have pictures of the rest of the car? If you spent that much time under the hood I want to see the entire thing!
