I have a 2007 z06 with a telescopic wheel. The service active handling comes on under hard acceleration. If you drive the car like a sunday driver no issues i have had the so called clip installed as well as replaced the steering angle sensor. All done by my gm dealer. Well i am still having the issue. Any help would be appreciated. I have read the thread on the forum cant find any thing else
can this be shut off permantely
my understanding is that to read all OBD codes stored, you would need more than simple code reader. so unless someone has a better idea, i think you need to get to a shop that has tech2 reader, arrive with the ServiceActiveHandling message on DIC, do not turn off engine, let them see the message, recommend they read codes (without turning off engine so the codes wont vanish). the codes stored would clue better to the cause. also have them write code(s) down on repair sheet so you can also look them up later.
f.y.i. i had SAH about a month ago, wouldnt go away for 3 days, took into dealership on 4th day but SAH had went away, they said no codes, SAH came back on 5th day, went away day 6 and has never reappeared.
I made a list back then and though not all inclusive.. causes of SAH are..
Wheel Speed Sensors
Brake Pedal Position Sensor
Brake Fluid Pressure Sensor
Steering Wheel Position Sensor
Yaw Rate Sensor
Lateral Accelerameter Sensor
or... bad contacts/connectors/wiring one of the above
Just had the Harmonic Balancer changed .... took my '07 in because SAH showed. Dealer told me the "wobble" was the cause of the SAH code ... ??? Whatever - runs and sounds better after HB replaced - just my experience.

I had the same problem a year ago and thought it might be the connector under the steering wheel but the dealer read the codes and it was determined that the Steering Wheel Position Sensor and one Wheel Speed Sensor was defective. They were replaced under warranty and I have not had the message since.

You have to have the codes read so you know where to look. There are several things listed above that can cause the SAH message. Take the car to a store that has a scanner that can read ABS codes and report your codes back here and somebody will provide some help. Without codes you may all anybody is doing is guessing. The SAH message tells you AH isn't working and that you need to check for codes.
