I went up to Great Lakes Dragaway last Sunday for opening weekend. The one and only time I ran the car before I only made one pass because there was an outlaw class race. With a service engine light and stock tires it ran a 13.3. Since then I fixed the SES light, had Speed Inc. do their basic tune (TQ management and shift points, no spark advance or fuel table manipulation) and since it was opening weekend (bad track prep) I mounted my 275/40/17 ET Streets. 2nd pass of the day was the best, 12.75 @ 111.8, 1.977 60' flashing the converter to about 1200 rpms. I'm happy with the results on a basically stock car. It took a dyno tune and cold air intake to run that with my LS3 Camaro and that car was never consistent. I can't wait to get the mods done and head back with GTO spares.
That's a pretty decent time for your first time out at the track. With drag radials though, the 1.9 60 ft has got to go. You should be able to see a 1.7 or 1.6 with relative ease and more seat time. That should put you in the lower part of the 12 second area. Keep us posted
Thanks. I don't think there's anyway to get a better 60' with the stock stall unless I add more HP. When the cam goes in so does the stall so my problems will be solved at one time.
I'm not familiar with autos too much so you might be correct. It's not like you can raise the launch rpm or anything. Either way, you're off to a great start

Next to impossible you will see 1.7 - 1.6 60 ft times with the stock stall.
With a Slp axle back my 2007 A6 ran a 13.04 @114. I never could figure out a good launch method. Stalled it a little then floored it. It seemed to hook up good as the track was sticky. Can you run down your launch sequance. My 60 ft times were 1.8-1.9 range. I ran a lot of 11.04 to 11.15 all at 114. I have sinceadded a SLP Blackwing. Car has powertrain warranty till 12-30-12 so no more mods till thats out.

Honestly it's the basic tune. I didn't do anything special on my launch. I heated up the tires and foot braked to about 1200 rpms and hammered it on the last yellow. I tried stabbing it off idle and ran my worst 60' time. The basic tune took out some of the torque management and raised the shift points. It's like a completely different car.
Thats not bad pretty similar before/after compared to my uncles 07 A6. Stock on runflats w/corsa and slp cai no tune 13.0@109 (330whp) added Tune/3.42s/RE11 street tires did 12.5@111.X 1.93 60' (355whp) no burnout with some Service Ride Control light on guess that forces it into Touring mode
I had My 09 automatic to the track just before I traded it for a Z. Never to a drag strip before, totally stock with just a tune. OEM tires. First run 12.7, after a few runs to get the hang of it the car ran 12.4 for at least a dozen passes, as the night wore on and it got cooler, and I figured out the best set up I got into the 12.2 range with my best just into the very high 12.1's I could not believe how great e car ran. Best setup was leave car in D, all nannies on and let it shift itself with just the slightest power brake to load the deive train. Car did every shift right at the redline, I could not even get close to that shifting with the paddles.
The motor and trans tune was done by Chuck Cow.
Went back to the track yesterday for a local camaro club track day. They said that the DA was negative in the morning but was about +300 when I got there around noon. Weather was great, low 50's all day but the sun was shining. Track prep was great. The car sat the same exact way as last time. Only mods are Corsa Sport CB, Speed Inc. basic tune and 275/40/17 ET Street radials. Stock air box, filter, manifolds and cats still intact. I did stall it up a bit higher at around 1500 rpms and hammered it out of the hole. I was awarded by a high 1.8 60'. The car ran a best of 12.48 @ 113.5 with me driving. It was consistently in the 12.5's. I couldn't believe what a basically stock car was doing. My 423 rwhp 2010 Camaro ran the same times and needed full bolt-on's. Needless to say, I love the Vette.
