Btw, if it wasn't clear, these rims I have a used with the 2010 sensors installed already. So I need to find someone capable of disassembling? Is that how you get the tire off a 3 piece rim? Maybe I can do this? Still need someone to balance tho....
No idea on a 3-piece rim. I run forged aluminum 1-piece rims on my toys.

Seriously, there must be someone that has the ability to work on the wheels unless you're in a third-world country.

Default Thanks BEZ06

Yes, we're talking about my "new to me" C6, 2008.

Just starting to add my own touches to it.

Thanks for the explaination on "Limp" mode, I though it actually limited speed etc.

I think the route I'm going is as suggested, another set of TPMS and a Program tool.

Thanks.

If you do go with sensors, the OE sensor for a 2005-2009 is a gray sensor with GM part# 25758220 - you might be able to see the part# molded into the case:

There are some aftermarket ones, but make sure they're compatible with the OE part#.

The OE sensors are made by Schrader, and there are some Schrader ones distributed outside of the GM parts system, so they're not really "aftermarket", but they are different in that are usually red and have a Schrader part# rather than a GM one.

Orange and Oro-Tek make some that are reported to work okay, but a forum member recently tried some Dorman ones and couldn't get them to work.
