For me on this car. But not for the car its a 06 with 57k on it. Im going to be using mobile 1. But my question is the filter.. On the tbss there was a another filter we could use from the normal one that was a lil bit longer wonder if the same applys to the vette. Or even recommendations on which filter to use would be great also.
I won't use a basic ACDelco oil filter on any car I own. If I didn't want to run a premium oil filter(as I do on my Z06), then I would run a WIX filter(as I do on my 56 & 64 Vettes and my supercharged Mercedes daily driver).

I have been buying the WIX drop-in filter elements for my wife's 2010 CTS 3.6L V-6 Wagon. Same engine as the base Camaro. Interesting to note that both elements for two separate oil changes were stamped "Made in Poland". I guess only the WIX spin-ons are made in the USA.

Of 50 years of owning cars, the only time I've had an oil filter problem was with a ACDelco on my C5. Sure, it might not happen again, but with all the different filter brands available, why buy the filter brand that did give me a problem. WIX makes a very good filter, so that's what I use along with either the Mobil1 or K&N on my Z06. I would rather pay a couple of dollars more(once a year on each car) to go with a premium filter.

My Mercedes uses the drop in filter cartridge also, so there is not a lot of choices. I'm just glad that WIX makes(imports?) a filter that fits the car. A couple of weeks ago I changed out the cabin air filter in my M-B with a WIX, and I noticed that it was made in Poland. I have a feeling that the WIX is the same as the factory filter in my M-B, but a lot cheaper then buying one at my Mercedes dealer.
Donaldson makes the air filter used in the Corvette LS3/7/9, and it is patented. I notice that WIX, and FRAM are selling the same filter. They appear identical to the Donaldson, even down to the light blue color, so I'm guessing that Donaldson is expanding their market past GM by selling to WIX and FRAM and let them handle the marketing in all the thousands of auto parts stores, etc.
