Default g6x3 cam question LS3

Hey guys...just doing my research. On the LS3, i want to do a cam down the road. Can anybody tell me how bad the driveability is of the g6x3 cam from LG? It sounds awesome and i definitely dont expect stock like driveability i just am curious how bad it will "buck" in town out of stoplights and so on. And if you are rolling and just throw it in neutral if the rpm's will fall really far and cause the car to want to shut off, etc...Thanks!!!

You should be able to drive around the small window where the bucking would be present, you shouldn't have any issues with idle drop assuming you use a competent tuner.

Don't hesitate to call LG, I have heard/read so may positive post about them and from them that I would be very comfortable talking with them about any of their products. I truly feel they would share accurate information and expectations with you as they have tons of data points, potentially with your exact setup.

Default good cam

have the same cam in my car, never stalls or surges, its all on ur tuner... my tuner installed mine and tuned, runs excellent man, have my rpm idle at 825 to 850, had a nice shake at the light, with long tubes and a good catback, sounds like a beast... go with the 112 lsa, if ur bold enough, go 111 like i did... i love it, wouldnt trade it for any other cam... kicks it strong at 3k, pulls to 6600 strong, would pull to 7k with ported heads...

A lot of it is in the tune....but yes it is a big cam.

We like to have them idle around 950-1025 RPM.

It is going to have a bit of surge at low speeds and it is happiest above 1500 RPM.

Power range is 3000-7000 RPM.

If you have any questions, we are always happy to help!

Depends on the build, for an LS2 car still using stock heads most of the time I would use one of our G5X series cams....but I have used this with some of the new AFR and TrickFlow heads with excellent results.

I had this cam and I loved it! As you already mentioned, don't go into it thinking it will drive like stock, because it won't. But as long as you get it tuned by someone that knows what they are doing (mine was installed and tuned at LG) it is perfectly fine to drive every day. (I drove 40 miles each way to work every day with it) I maybe stalled my car twice when I was getting used to the new powerband, but after that I never even gave it another thought. And this was my first cammed car.

Again, it is a fairly big cam, but as long as you don't expect it to drive like stock, you will love it.

Not bad at all! It will take a little getting used too around parking lots/backing out of driveways, but once you are rolling, god damn will you be happy with you're choice!

Regarding rolling and throwing it into neutral, if it is not freezing outside and you're not running too rich, it shouldn't shut off on you (pending a good tune).

Hope this helps, feel free to PM me, I've been DD'ing that cam for a while.
