Default Air Bag Problem

I have a2009 Coupe with the deluxe seats and the Z51 pkg. For about a week now the Air Bag light on the dash comes on when I start the car. After I drive a short distance the light will flicker then go out and sometimes stays on for a while. At times the light works normal.Any ideas what it could be? Thank you for any replies.Rod:flag :

same problem on a 06 Z06. Idk about yours but sometimes mine will go out, then come back on, and repeat this over and over then eventually go out after some time, could be 20mins, could be 5 mins.

A common source of the problem is a loose connector or loose wire under the seat.

When the light comes on, try moving your seat back & forth and up & down. Or the passenger seat, especially if occupied. If the light goes out, you can probably eliminate it permanently by re-seating the connectors and/or zip tieing them together. May need to unbolt seat to do this, hopefully not.

If this doesn't work, then a trip to the dealer may be in order.

Find an autoparts store with a code scanner that can read ABS codes and have them read the codes. That will point you to where to look. There are a number of failure points in the SRS and the codes tell you where to start your search for a problem. Under seat connectors have often caused an issue but you do have to pull the seat out to get to them so it is worth it to find out whether or not you should be spending your time looking there.
