Just bought a GHL Street series cat back for my 05 6 speed manual, I did a ton of research online trying to find sound clips but most of the videos i found were the Race Series. My last car was a 92 Mustang 5.0 and i put a BBK off road X pipe and a flowmaster Americian Thunder cat back, it sounded awesome but after about 1/2 hour the drone and noise drove ya nuts. Just wondering if anyone out there can give me a heads up as to what i can expect. Stock manifolds (for now anyway) and stock cats. I see alot of people complaining about exhaust drone, but I have my doubts it will be as bad as my Mustang was. The street series seems to be a bit quieter than the race series. I want this thing to sound abit louder than stock at idle and come to life as the RPM's climb. I guess I should have asked these question before i made the purchase lol It should be delivered in about 2 weeks, but I think I just need someone to tell me that i didn't waste my money.

True, you should have checked this out first. I have an NPP 08 ZO6 exhaust installed in my 06 Z51, 6 spd. In the closed position, it's very quiet, but wide open it's noisey, but I like that alot. A way to deal with it is to change gears, which raises or lowers RPM's to avoid the range which initiates drone. This is a simple an effective way to deal with this issue. I know this sounds like a dumbass/smartass answer, but it's plain, simple, and it is what it is. It works.

If you have a Z06 exhaust it's a bimodal. NPP exhaust doesn't come on a Z06. There are several differences between an NPP and Z06 exhaust.
I'm pretty new at this Corvette stuff, all my experiance has been with 5.0 Mustangs. The more I read about this matter, the more I kinda wish i would have bought a used NPP exhaust and hooked it up on a switch. Seems as though it would have been a pretty simple swap, and give you the best of both worlds. Oh well if i hate the GHL system I can easily replace it. Thanks for the input guys :-)
