Old thread, but can't find any other recent threads on this subject. Looking into getting a base 08 Vette with the 6 speed. Has close to 100k miles. Curious since this thread is over 2 years old, what all has gone wrong with your c6 Vettes? Any high mileage ones out there? $$$$ cars to take care of?

Are you kidding...my beautiful Vette has 110,000 miles, 2008...6 speed. And I love it! I drove Porsches for 30 years...scared to death to go American...and I am so glad I did. It's really...a better car than I could have imagined. Strong, power, any turns are no problem...stops on a dime, after 80K miles - she was totally broken in. No work done since - other than wheel alignment, oil changes, and brakes at !00K miles, even the air filter never wears out!!!...what great design, what a great car.

My Porsche mechanic said I cant believe you have over 100K miles and the car looks like new. It's the design, the paint...I dont know. I got rear ended, and nothing...except a smudge that polished out...it's wonderful.

Power...leather...custom stereo loud, but no distortion...pushing....it's a great car. BUY IT! But remember it breaks in after around 40K. Then the car is PERFECT.

I just got home pushing through the Catskills...and wondrous about how much fun the Vette is in nature.

Don't worry about resurecting an old thread. If you had not done that you would surely get someone preaching about using the search function.

I have a 2008 Z51 M6 I bought new and picked up at the museum on 10/04/2007.

I replaced the clutch with a ZR1 clutch because the stock started releasing funny. Other than that I've only had routine maintenance.
Currently have 68K on the clock and its my daily driver.
