2008 C6 Common Issues Question
1. Water pump - out at 12k
2. brake rotors - out at 15k - I used after market to replace them with
3. battery leaked - cause wiring harness to need replacement
4. drivers side door stopped opening correct - electrical issue
5. key fobs went out
6. more recently - harmonic balancer just died
7. ticking in suspension turned out to be right front wheel hub replacement needed -
Now did I just get "unlucky" with mine? I've read about some of these issues being "common" - just wondering if I need to sell my car before the extended runs out on it.

5. A/C temp sensor.
6. One TPS on rear tire.
All repaired under warranty.
Thanks for the reminder Boomer111: DIY fix roof latches, also.

1. Broken valve spring at 24K miles, which MELTED the intake manifold...
2. Terrible valve knocking started once every few months at 60K miles (possibly from broken valve spring)...BARTON BIRKS in Newburgh, NY went to bat for me with GM and got approval to have both heads rebuilt - THANK GOD - and the problem has finally been repaired. Work was super professional!! [I am super critical]. I love that dealership and the service manager! I never ever ever said that before about any service guy.
3. Reoccurring problem with TPS - that was finally fixed with new tire monitor RECEIVER. Except I get the RIGHT REAR sensor not transmitting every month or so...which resets itself overnight.
4. Oh yes...and let's not forget the FLYING ROOF CLUB which I was a platinum member...which I finally fixed with a thin chain attached to the drivers latch - that drops down and hangs right in my face - reminding me to latch that fly away roof! My Porsche 944 has a failsafe design that allows me to drive the car without latching the roof, with no way the roof can fly off. Since I had 2 Porsche 944s for 30 years!!!, I got used to not having to latch it immediately.
4. HVAC display panel was replaced.
5. Driver seat leather replaced - and seat cushion foam replaced.
6. Entry key receiver module was changed.
7. Ticking in rear differential...I replaced the fluid myself with recommended GM fluid.
8. After 75K miles, I am ready to install new AC DELCO ceramic brake pads all around.
Oh, and my clear bra - installed by me when the car was new - was SO worth it.
After 70K miles, I think the Vette is finally broken in. It's a great sports car. Hugely better handling than my Porsche 944. I mean the Vette seems like it will never ever skid. All the above except for 7 & 8 were under warranty. Was it all worth it? You bet it was!
This car, and it's thick paint is so unbelievable. If you're thinking about buying a Corvette...let me reassure you...this is one hell of a sports car.

First year: 5 warranty repairs
Second year: 7 warranty repairs
Third year: looks like this one will be 5 warranty repairs.
None of the problems are related to the high performance of the car, just ordinary cheapsh!t parts that fail in normal service.
Our 2009 is worse than our previous 2006, and the 2006 was worse than the previous 2001.
There's a reason people started buying Japansese cars...

I've been fairly trouble free for just over 100K. I don't count things that are normal maintenance items like batteries, brakes, and light bulbs or things that I damaged. So that leaves me with just two alternators and a glove box latch as problems.
I think the key is to let your car know right from day 1, who the boss is and how you intend to drive her. I put 5500 miles on in the first 30 days and drove most of it in rain, snow, in mud, on gravel roads, and did a few burnouts and high speed runs, before I introduced her to her home garage and gave her the second bath.

Note to Mike's LS3: The only "redesign" on the end links was to change the tool needed for installation. The interior part that is the cause of the noise did not change.
Oil level sensor went out a few months after I bought the car
Battery only lasted about a year
Hatch lift cylinders lasted about 3 years. hat suprised me a little.
End links - went through 2 sets, including one set of expensive LG ends. The third set seems to be lasting, but I stopped driving on one really bad road whcih I think was causing accelerated wear
My drivers door is acting up a little. I assumed my FOB battery was getting weak, but maybe not after seeing others reporting trouble.
My car has never been to the dealer. My problems have been minor enogh that I'd rather avoid trips to the dealer and just pay for th parts and fix it myself.

So far...so good.
