Hey guy's , i just purchased my first 2005 vette. i purchased the car with 52,000 miles from a used car dealer. The car is stock 6spd. What are the basic maintenance things i should be doing to my car with this mileage?
Thanks for you input..
If you don't have a record of its service history, I'd suggest replacing the engine oil along with the transmission and differential fluid. This will give you a clean slate to start from.

Above plus brake, coolant, and power steering fluids, all easy to do your self.
I would. Changed mine at nearly 60K and light-throttle smoothness definitely improved.
I had the dealer change our C5 plugs at ~50k miles, and the tech said they didn't really need to be changed. But he said the ones he changes at ~100k miles definitely do need to be changed.
Be very careful about changing plugs. Make sure you get the right ones for the car and I strongly suggest using the same as OEM or close to it. I made the mistake of spending for high-dollar NGK's thinking better plugs than OEM. Error...Malfunction...caused me charge system faults and yes, its true. Noisy plugs will cause charge problems....that's electrically noisy.
I am big on fluid changes. Usually change at least by 50% required interval. I like keep the fluids as fresh as convenient for me which is yearly for most and at least every two years for trans, with yearly diff changes. Coolant I go 3 years with under 15,000 miles driven.
I also am coming up on almost 2 years of not washing the Vette, so maybe I am not the right person giving advice to follow....

I haven't changed plugs in over 17 years since I only keep my cars for 6 years or so and they never get enough mileage to justify changing the plugs. The only exception is my 03 Tahoe which is pushing 90K miles with a fair amount of trailer towing and the gas mileage seems to be dropping so it might be time to look at the plugs.
To the OP, if you didn't get an owner's manual go to the GM Parts House web site and click on the Downloads link and get a PDF version. All the answers to your questions are there.
