I just received a new Zo6. I have had lots of experience with my hot rod C3 but little with the LS7. I am stuck with California smog rules so I was wondering what a good bolt on program would be. My plan was to go with mild ported FAST 102 intake, Halltech Super Bee 112, Arkovich Titanium exhaust (Mostly for weight). Do you keep the stock throttle body or go with a 92 or 102mm electric TB and can a custom tune for this set up be had delivered by internet?
Any advice -- Thanks

Honestly, I would just drive it.

You want to spend money - replace the Goodyears with a decent tire (Michelin, Bridgestone, Nitto).

I'd hold off on the warranty-voiding intake manifolds, tunes, etc until you confident you no longer need it (or the resale value that comes with having it).

The more mature thing to do for sure. The car is carbon edition no. 248, so I was not going to do anything that a couple of hrs with a wrench would not undo.

Best mod you can do ... go to a good driving school.

PS That doesn't void the warranty.

Enjoy your Z

I know it sounds like a "smart *&*^%" answer, but it is true. I did it and will always be glad I did. Learned a lot about the capabilities of the car (and mine) that has lead to greater "performance", without many mods.

that is some good advice. can anyone recommend a good driving school or two? i'm in Texas but it would be worth it to travel wherever a good recommended school is.

I (my wife) ones a STOCK 11 Grand Sport NM6 Vert. Having owned a 98 A4 Coupe, 98 MN6 Base Coupe, 02 ZO6 heavily Modded car,,, If i lived in a RESTRICTED AREA,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i WOULD ,,,,,,,,,,,,

I would add MODDED OEM Parts!!!!
Port a set of ZO6 exhaust manifolds and install them and a set of ZO6 MID Pipes and NPP nuffelrs. Once you ahve those MODS, get a tune!! NO ONE will know the difference and you WILL have extra HP/TQ

More power than any sane person needs for the street. I waited until my warrantee was up before I did anything, other than just put some decent tires on it.

A tune will nuke his drivetrain warranty if he has one. GM will know the difference.

Bill porting stock exhaust manifolds on a z06 will add absolutely nothing in terms of power.Even adding headers gives only a 7 h.p gain. The guy got a z06 why would he add z06 mid pipes??????????Leave the centennial z06 all stock .
