I have '07 A6, 25K miles. Car is at dealer for 3rd time with shifting probs. 1 to 2 OK, but after that engine revs up 300-500 rpm and then shifts, but not a hard shift. 1st time dealer rebuilt trans, soon started doing same thing, took it back. Dealer said found some "trash" and cleaned out tran. Took it home, soon started doing same thing. Now it's been there for 1 week, no fix yet, however dealer can duplicate problem thank goodness. Transmission has passed all tests, GM now involved again. They requested some tests on the mass air flow sensor, saying they have had probs with some of these, but testing hasn't been completed yet. I'm at a loss, anyone experienced anything like this?
there was a maf topic about 'weak ones'. it only said they were causing 'hesitation or other unwanted effects '. no clue if thats what they are concerned about. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...d-effects.html
Chevy Cust Service, Thanks for reply. I called dealer, the service number is 711086900044. Car is being fixed under extended warranty. Orig expired on years, not millage (don't usually buy these, but thank goodness...).
Mass air flow sensor tests completed, GM (Chevy) said no abnormalities found. I think dealer is now looking at oil pump.
I also got a question if transmission control module has been changed, dealer said no.
Evan, I would appreciate input from you. I talked to dealer late Fri and was told they replaced the oil pump and had more testing to do Mon (7/23), but car would be ready to pick up. On this visit I had asked that transmission replaced if probs were found with it (3rd time). Initially I was told tranny had passed all tests and was OK, but now it’s back to oil pump.
How can I get assistance from Chevy to replace tranny? I'm very disappointed about this, they've had my car 2 weeks and I feel like here we go again.
No responses for similar probs, if this is the only one I think they should do some research on it and give me a new one!
Sorry for late response, I've been out of town. I got car back from dealer, they replaced the transmission oil pump with a "2nd design pump". So far so good, don't have many miles on the fix yet. I'm not sure why it wasn't replaced before in my 2 previous visits, but thats just that 'ol hindsight. I'm not sure when this fix came out,but if you're having probs I'd ask about this pump.
