My 2005 with F55 has suddenly begun to handle a little strangely, almost like a rear shock has failed. Tire pressure is right and there is no external indication on the shocks of a hydralic leak. I checked the electrical connectors and all is fine.
So, my question is how do you detect a failed magnetic shock?
Check the sensors at each corner that sense the suspension position (the one's with the link attached to the suspension arms) to ensure they are not broken. I had the shaft on one break. If this happens the system senses there is no input from that sensor and shuts down.....essentially leaving the shocks in full soft.
If thwt turns out to the case, you may also want your shop to check for codes, as the system may also have to be re-activated in the appropriate module (not sure the F55 software is in the BCM or a separate module). This had to be done on my car (2005 with F55).
Thanks guys. All external connectors and links have been checked and look to be in working order. Should it throw a code? No indications of any code trouble right now. No CEL.
