I'm trying to take the mufflers off my 05 c6 but I'm not having any luck. I have the clamps loosed at the H and I took the mounts off of the rear frame at the bumper. The issue I'm having is that I can't pull the muffler pipe any farther out of the H pipe because the muffler is hitting the bumper frame support at the back. Do I need to take the H pipe off at the front as well and pull it forward? I've seen install videos of people turning the muffler sideways to install but I cant get mine to turn. Thanks for any help.
Ok thanks guess ill take the back wheels off the ramps and put up the front. Don't think I can squeeze all the way to the connectors with the backs up.
Once you've got the front loose, you are going to need to get the rear back up. Once the mufflers are loose from the H-pipe you are going to need to turn / twist / pull to get them out; they will fight you but they will eventually come out.
Well I got it all done. The hardest part is just getting the back up, then the front, then the back again. It sounds great to me. A question though is it going to cause and damage now that my exhaust is exiting right into the axle and all of its components now? I don't really want to install turn downs but I will if I have to.

I would.. it's not expensive, & will prevent the HOT exhaust gas from hitting the rear...
It's 2.5" piping. Go to your local autozone, pep boys, or whatever auto accessory store and you can probably find chrome turn down exhaust tips for a few bucks.
