I drove two protouring LS engined cars with LS engines at Road America. A 70 Camaro and a 69AMX. One with blown and stroked LS3 and one with a mild LS3. Beside having LS3 engines both had twin disk Centerforce clutches in them.
I really like the feel and since I am putting strocked LS3 in my car and the engine is out, I decided to get one. Does anyone have one in a C6? If so, how do you like it.
I know that Centerforce makes great stuff, but this is my first twin disk.
I have driven a car with one, it does have a nice feel, but I have never owned a center force clutch that actually held up well. I'd look into a modified ls9 clutch kit from katech if I were you.
I have the LS9X clutch from Katech and am very happy with it. Compared to other dual clutches I have used the Katech unit is almost as smooth as stock. My wife can even use it and that is saying something.
Our Level 1 Carbon/Organic twin disc is rated at 700rwhp and literally drives like stock with a linear pedal feel of 8% more than stock because of the use of a progressive rate spring. There is also minimal floater plate rattle, because of the superior design. Feel free to call me at the shop with any questions you may have.
