Default Halltech Rules the Track Attack 2012

I know, you've heard it before, but it is worth mentioning again. The Katech Track Attack was a huge success this year. My first time ever on a road race track One ride with me and the passengers disappeared

Most of the cars at the event had a Halltech intake system. We didn't go around asking folks to lift their hoods, so if you have your own picture, feel free to post it.

Katech recommends our intake for all of their Street Attack and Track Attack builds, and uses our Super Bee on their engine dyno as the standard for all LS engine builds. Obviously, a customer could chose their own intake if desired.

The point here, is that there is a reason for this preference. Back in 2006, the record chassis dyno pull at Katech was around 508 RWHP. Our 2006 Z06 did 496 with our foam honeycomb intake, tuning and headers, before the torquer cam. 538 RWHP then became the big number adding the Torquer. Jason still thinks our car was a freak.

Interestingly, and to my great disappointment, Katech told me that they would not be using or recommending our honeycomb/foam filter, since they felt it was too hard to keep clean, and most of all, did not filter as well as their standards. It provided 8 HP on their engine dyno vs. stock, so I was bummed, but resolute.

I will not bore anyone with the long story of the development of the Killer Bee and subsequent Super Bee Intakes, but the Super Bee smashed all records on their engine dyno at 15 HP, even beating the LSXR intake manifold for HP gain, but the LSXR had a better torque gain than our intake. The Williams Performance TB was only worth 3 HP and no torque, but we added that to the package as well. Our motor was the actual motor used for the testing of the LSXR intake manifold when it first came out and the dyno used in their advertising.

Interesting advancements: The Halltech ULZ700 has a Katech Track Attack motor that made 561 RWHP on the DynoJet, and it has stock heads and a mild zero overlap version of the Torquer cam! It does have 13:1 compression, but where did 53 more horsepower come from vs. the 2006 numbers? The Super Bee and LSXR intake manifold, with the Williams throttle body is worth around 30 HP over the stock setup, and our cam power loss vs. the 110 Torquer has an equivanlency of the gain in power from the compression ratio according to Jason.

Any tuner will tell you that it is not one mod that brings the big numbers, but a synergistic combination of mods that work in unison with each other. Yesterday, I can tell you that a Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 found out what I am saying.

and then there is this 670 HP monster:
