Hello, I am looking for some feed back on my car. I have a 2008 base coupe 6 speed manual. I have LG long Tube street headers and Corsa extrem exhaust, along with a Vararam CAI and a tune. On the dyno I got 403 HP and 412 foot pounds of torque. Is this good or bad for what I have done ? The car has 80,000 Kms on it. What should the next thing I do to get some additional HP ?
What is great a out these cars is how much power and capability they have right put of the box. The answer to your question depends on how far you want to dig into the motor and how long do you want the motor to live. Heads and cam and another tune or forced induction. Another thought may be an upgrade to an ls7.
I have an '08 with NPP and added a Vararam CAI. With no tune and on a 94 degree June afternoon in Houston, my car dynoed at 394 hp. I don't recall the torque.

That is a good number for what you did. Headers and CAI will get you around 35 and 15 HP, respectively. Cams could be next, but these will have at least some affect on drivability. A decent sized cam will make the car shake a bit at idle and slow speeds, but will get you around 35 more HP. You could also explore manifolds and intake, which I might do next. Unless you are going to drag race or enter our car in a show, I believe it is best to keep it naturally aspirated. The forced induction cars seem to break more based on what I see.

Same car and mods but with AR headers catted and the Corsa Sports I saw 422 both rwhp and tq. 160 degree stat too.

Plug change also.
The above would appear to be closer to the norm. Way back when the LS3 was first put into the C6 ('08), LG and several other tuners tested it on their dynos. IIRC the range was from the low 380s to about 393 or so for manual trans cars.
I know, the shop said it was the strongest LS3 they had seen come through. I watched them tune it and adjust it on 15 or so dyno runs to get it. It rips man!
And their reason to lie to me and not be honest would be??????? So is my baseline of 396 not correct either? And the fact another shop ran the same exact figure would be off as well too I guess. This is the same dyno the Cosworth racing team uses and its one of the most respected shops in AZ. Enjoy your hp and I will surely enjoy mine!
