Default Considering getting blown

Not that kind of blown! Thinking about bolting on an Edlebrock E-Force on my 12 CE GS Vert. Any opinions and experiences from others who've done the same thing? Main concern is traction and engine longevity. Input appreciated!

Realcanuk is very well-versed. Maybe send him a PM if he doesn't post in here.

Default Considering getting blown!

I just completed the install of the 1593 model EForce supercharger on my 2007 A6 C6. I would recommend it to anyone looking for more power, more fun and the sleeper look that this unit provides. I have been running it for most of the summer, on the highway, at the strip and on road courses and love it everywhere, The power bump is great and I still get 25 mpg on the highway running at 80 mph! I don't understand what traction issue you are worried about if you drive with all the electronics on and keeping you out of trouble. The unit should have no impact on longevity of the LS2 if you maintain it well and don't tray to blow it up. My car had 25,000 on the clock when I did the install and the unit has a 100,000 mile warranty. Do your research and go for it. If you don,t want to do a cam swap, headers etc, it is a great bang for the buck.

Good luck.

RJ

Search Edelbrock E Force and you will find a thread by Blauenstein started on 3-29-2012 ("Pros/Cons Edelbrock Supercharger/2011 Grand Sport") which will answer all your questions.

Hey Jesse - cant get a Vert ZR1, so you're gonna build a stealthy ZR1 killer!!!

No experience with that setup, but I want a ride in it if you go for it!!!

Your ZR1 inspired me! Of course you'll get all the seat time you want! I'll keep you posted. Gonna be over this way any time soon?

Great write up RJ. Is there any noticeable lag in the throttle as boost builds up? How quickly does the power come on? Did you have a dynotune done with it to get baseline and post SC numbers?

Default Getting blown

Zap City, just saw your follow up question. From my short time with the set up, I see no delay in the power kicking in or any kind of lag. When I jump on it, it responds immediately. The blower sounds great when you jump on it and the only thing I want to do is go from the stock exhaust to one of the Corsa set ups, either Touring or Sport. Let us know what you decide to do. Goog luck!!

I have a 12 GS 'Vert A6 - just put the E Force 1591 kit on it. Love the change - drives like stock, untill you put your foot in it -

I'm in the tampa area, if you want to see or drive.

Come on by the Reeves "car and coffee" this Sat 7 to 9 am, there will be alot of nice cars and I'll be there.
