Default Brake question witn hawk pads

I am taking my 07 Z51 to the track (VIR) this weekend. Two weeks ago, I fried my brake fluid at another track. It was the third HPDE weekend I have done in the car. I had installed Hawk DTC 70 pads on the front and DTC 60's on the rear. Yesterday, I used a ProMotive power brake bleeder for the first time. I used the blue racing brake fluid to refill the system. I used the correct order to bleed the brakes. Since then the brake pedal seems to work at the top of the pedal. It used to go down a little then work. Now it is at the top and you can't push it more than a inch or two. The brakes seem to work good just at the top. The only thing that I had a problem with during the brake fluid flush was when I took the pump off the top of the master cylinder, it was over full. I pumped out the excess fluid. I don't think I completely drained the resevior, and I didn't think air would create a hard pedal, but with check valves and the computer, I don't know. Thanks for any help!
