I own a 2005 c6 m6 15k miles on odometer. I would like to improve the stock shifter to get a little smoother and quicker shifts. Do short throws really work? I have never had one nor know anyone that has had one. I would like a bullet proof piece that I don't have to mess with ever.
It also depends on the year of the car. The shifter fitted to the TR6060 is reportedly better than the T56. And the Z06 solid one was ditched when switching to the TR6060, but I'll let an expert chime in.
Bottom line is the shifter on the '12 GS is good enough that I don't feel the need to mess with it . At least for now . As miles accumulate, I might change my mind.

Go with MGW. none better. Had one on my 04 Cobra and never went back to anything else. Made it my first mod on my C6. The look and feel of this shifter is awesome.
