Ruined my MAF!
It fired up quickly, but then promptly started to sound like a Model T, sputtering until it finally found a somewhat decent idle. I let it run for about 10 minutes, shut it off, started it up again, and got an immediate CEL. Code showed P0102 (MAF low input).
I disconnected the battery again, waited about an hour, fired it up again, and it seemed to start and idle well, and let it idle for 15 minutes. Then turned it off and on again, and the CEL popped back on.

I'm kicking myself because although I run an oiled K&N filter, the MAF didn't even look dirty in the first place. I now have a new one on the way.
When I reinstall it, do I need to have it done by the dealer so they can use a scantool to get rid of the code, or can I just disconnect the battery for 15 minutes, reinstall the MAF and reconnect the battery to clear the code?

I am an idiot.
Never underestimate the power of determination and in the OP's case, lack of sleep!
