Transmission Interchangeability
My 2006 Z51 M6 car needs a trans and I may have found one from a 2005 Z51, my question is are they interchangeable? I only ask because I know the diff was changed in 2006 and I wasn't sure if the shaft going into the diff is the same splines or not? Thanks.

The splines are the same, but you till have to change the tail housing to make it bolt up.

Also, make sure to change over the shims under the extension shaft end bearing race to the new tailshaft housing. If the clearance isn't right, you can have premature bearing failure.
